Caveworks Rivet – A Zwift Ride Competitor has entered the chat

The Zwift Ride made a big splash with a clever “smart frame” that can permanently live on your smart bike trainer, eliminating the need to mount your bike every time you wanted to ride indoors, all at a quite affordable price ($1299 USD) which includes a Wahoo KICKR CORE bike trainer.

The catch with the Zwift Ride though is that it’s made to work best with Zwift since it’s a single-speed design that works with Zwift’s virtual shifting via their updated Zwift Play controllers. (You can use the Zwift Ride with any other cycling training app in ERG mode but simulation mode is tied to Zwift).

For cyclists who ride on Zwift, the Ride is a great solution that I can recommend but what about other apps? That’s where the Caveworks Rivet comes into play where the Rivet can work with any cycling app since it has an option to set it up fully geared, plus the Rivet has KICKR Climb or Elite Rizer compatibility – something the Ride lacks.

The Rivet offers a more customizable and flexible solution than the Ride but it also costs a bit more. Is it worth it? Check out what the RIvet is all about in the video below.
