Hot off the heels of the Galaxy Watch that was released last year, Samsung released the Galaxy Watch Active – ditching the rotating bezel of the original but keeping nearly everything else – all while coming in at a much lower price tag. (Check latest pricing here.)

With “Active” in the name, they are obviously targeting the fitness-oriented folks, so as usual, I tested the crap out of it using it for running and cycling, both indoors and outdoors, weight training, pool swimming, as well as some other gym based activities to get an idea if it improved on the lackluster GPS and heart rate performance of both the Galaxy Watch and the Gear Sport before it.
